Terms of Service

Section 1 - General Conditions

The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.

Section 2 - Your Information

All that takes place within our sessions, either therapeutic or supervisory, is confidential. Unless we have agreed with you that we can inform other people of our work with you, all the information that we discuss remains within the session. You are perfectly within your rights to discuss our sessions with anyone that you wish to. I will, however, ensure that confidentiality is maintained with the information that I keep. You can ask to see the information that I hold in relation to our sessions at any time. While I keep very little information about our sessions, what I do keep is held securely

Section 3 - Cancellations

Sessions that are cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice (excluding weekends) will be charged at the full rate. Sometimes things happen in our lives that are unavoidable and a session has to be cancelled. Please do talk to me if there are unavoidable circumstances that delay you or cause you to miss a session.

Section 4 - Recording of Sessions

I may ask to record some sessions. This can be because I may need to review our discussions between sessions or because there may be a special research need. Your permission will always be required before a recording is made and the context for the recording will be explained. You may like to record sessions yourself or take notes during our session.

Section 5 - Supervision

As part of my own professional development I see a professional supervisor on a regular basis, to discuss my practice of psychotherapy. It is quite possible that I will discuss our work with my supervisor in order to ensure the quality of my service to you. These discussions are also confidential.

Section 6 - Contact with Other Healthcare Professionals

I may suggest that you inform other healthcare professionals responsible for your care, for example, your G.P. or specialist doctor, that you are seeing me. If you have been referred to me by a GP or other healthcare professional, then it is normal practice for me to send them short. so that they are informed about your work with me.

I will always ask your permission before I contact anyone else about our working together. The only exception to this is where the law demands that I take steps to protect either yourself or other people from your actions.

Section 7 - Entire Agreement

The failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
