The Course Programme

The ideas and concepts in NLP can be learned quite quickly. However, it is the practice and application of the skills, ideas and concepts that needs attention. Over the years I have met many practitioners at all levels whose breadth and depth of NLP skill has stayed at the level at which they learned. They have not been able to go much beyond what they learned. For some it’s because they do not fully understand what lies behind NLP and for others it’s because they lack the confidence to move beyond the classroom.

The Lifetide Training NLP Practitioner programme seeks to provide time to think, talk and reflect on the skills, ideas and concepts and then to practice, practice and practice again. More than this, students are encouraged to take their new skills into their own lives and create new and innovative ways to put the NLP material into action.

Modules
There are seven modules presented over six months. Each module is three days; Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The day runs from 9.30am to 5pm with an hour or so for lunch and breaks throughout the day.

There are seven three day modules with up to four weeks in between. In the time between modules students are actively encouraged to take time to read the texts, practice new skills and meet together to swap ideas and experiences.

The programme provides 130 hours face-to-face time with trainers. You will receive 21 days to learn, practice and to ask questions.

Style
Our view is the NLP is about both working with people and also about knowing much more about ourselves. We like a conversational style that will provide for you ample time to ask questions, review your experiences and think about the wider aspects of your new skills.

To help you learn the best we know that different people prefer different ways to receive information. So, we will be using such things as:

Presenting (a bit of chalk and talk)
Demonstrations (a real time experience for you to follow)
Coaching (to help you master the topic in question)
Open frames (for you to ask questions and to hear the questions of others)
Exercises in pairs and groups (to gain a physical experience of the topic)
Reading (suggested books and articles to deepen your knowledge)

There is a lot of discussion today about standards and the regulation of psychotherapy and counselling. NLP is being applied in these areas of professional work along with coaching as well. This programme has been developed with a focus on the Professional Occupational standards that have been produced by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. A full copy is available on their web site at: www.ukcp.org.uk in the Therapists section.
