Professional History
In 1984 Martin Weaver took the first call on the Terrence Higgins Trust AIDS telephone helpline and went on to develop many of their early health promotion campaigns. Since then Martin has worked extensively in both the voluntary and public sector formulating and delivering management development programs, commissioning health services and developing his busy West London personal therapy and Consultancy practice.
Martin spent 11 years working in the NHS. During his time working for the then South West Thames Regional Health Authority he piloted the Primary Health Care Team workshops and developed this programme over a number of years as well as implementing training programmes for Health Promotion staff.
During this time Martin gained extensive experience training GPs and their staff to meet the new challenges and changing face of the NHS, supported the HIV/Aids voluntary sector by implementing a Consortium arrangement to ensure funding stability and worked in Kingston and Richmond to ensure an effective community response to HIV and AIDS.
Martin is qualified to Master Practitioner standard in NLP and registered as a Neuro Linguistic Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). While practicing Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy and running a successful psychotherapy and training practice in West London, he spends much of his time working with clients at his private practice and develops training courses in counselling, health and team development for both the public and private sectors.
